Social
Spiritual Enrichment
Our Spiritual Enrichment program aims to create a society in which every mother is celebrated as a unique creation of God, and each is encouraged to fulfill her full potential.
At Waniati, we believe that a person’s health ecompasses far more than just their physical condition. With this in mind, we take a holistic approach to health and as such, we consider spiritual enrichment to be vital for the integral human development of any individual.
Every pregnant mother who is admitted at the Maternal Waiting Home, is anointed by the Spiritual Enrichment Leader using olive oil. The Spiritual Enrichment Leader also offers free counseling services to mothers who have experienced social issues.

Gender Based Violence
Victims of violence can suffer sexual and reproductive health consequences including forced and unwanted pregnancies, unsafe abortions, traumatic fistula, sexually transmitted infections including HIV, and even death.
Pregnant mothers are normally admitted to the MWH close to term, for supervised delivery, however, mothers that are experiencing violence may be admitted at any time during pregnancy.
Violence is extremely damaging, both short and long term, on mental, physical, and spiritual well being. It can also prolong pregnancy (post term) or alternately, lead to premature labour.
The WDA also conducts awareness on violence against women in the urban disadvantaged and rural communities.
