SME Business Development

The SME Business Development Programme specifically targets business women who own small to medium businesses and wish to expand their business, or women who are interested in venturing into business, but lack financial capacity. Its aims include: strengthening and reviving business activities across the Eastern Highlands Province and abroad; building and improving entrepreneurial skills in our local women; and introducing local women to our government’s economic empowerment programmes enabling them to benefit exponentially. The long term goal of the Programme is to foster an overall increase in Eastern Highlands wealth.

Our mission is to provide economic and social development for the women of the Eastern Highlands Province. We envision that economic development would come through empowerment of potential entrepreneurs to expand either a formal or an informal commercial activity, and social development through establishing the art of entrepreneurship in women’s lives encouraging them toward building meaningful and profitable lives.

Our ultimate goal is to see every unemployed woman in the Eastern Highlands Province involved in either a formal or informal commercial activity, thereby increasing overall levels of productivity and reducing poverty and social disorders within the province.
