Marginalized pregnant do not go for supervised delivery attended by health professionals or access to family planning services due to physiological needs of the pregnant mother not provided by the husband. It is vital that physiological needs of a pregnant mother are provided so it encourages the mother to go for supervised delivery to the nearest health facility. Some of the physiological/spiritual needs of pregnant mothers provided at maternal waiting home are as follows:

  • Food

  • Recreational and Entertainment (TV, radio games)

  • Accommodation

  • Ambulance service

  • Labour ward items (maternity pads, soap, toilet paper, dozen napkin, hand gloves)

  • Worship and prayer

  • Life skills (sewing, cooking, floriculture)
